Civil War Sampler Pattern

The three blocks that make up this wall hanging all originate from the time of the American Civil War and it is a suitable project for using up scraps. We have combined the patterned fabrics with calico in our samples concentrating the eye on the block designs.
This is a great design for practicing your 1/4 inch seams and half square triangles.  It is small enough to try some hand quilting in keeping with the feel of the era.

We found some lovely new Civil War fabrics and added a border so there is also a kit available for this design.
