National Quilt Museum, Paducah, Kentucky

We drove north from Nashville to Paducah Kentucky and the American National Quilt Museum. It was a little smaller than I expected but made up for it with the quality of the quilts on display. Disappointingly there were no vintage quilts on exhibit.

One stand out Quilt was this one made by hand by Dutch lad. She was inspired by the wedding handkerchief of her grandmother circa 1829.

My favourite was again a hand pieced and hand quilted by a Japanese lady for her daughter.

It took five years to complete but it is exquisite. I was in awe of the skill.

Next stop is a quilt shop. This really is a busman’s holiday!
