AQS Paducah Show

A two hour drive north on Interstate 24 I arrived at the Convention Centre. As always met some lovely ladies, it was their first visit to the show too.

This is only the second year of the American Quilt Society (AQS) Fall Show in Paducah. The event was held over two floors and the Convention Dome, it was about 1/4 mile away but there was a shuttle bus and the temperature was in the 90s. It was a very large marquee!

The display of quilts was very good including competition quilts and special exhibits. These were a couple of my favourites but there will be more in our next newsletter and I’ll put some on the website.

There was a lot of heavy machine quilting but also lots of imagination and wonderful use of colour. Saw more wool appliqué than I have seen at home and a bundle of patchwork fabric that matched my hair, so the lady on the stand said.

I had to restrain myself, I have only one suitcase, so I just bought a few patterns.
